#DIDIscoveries: Custom Cake & Ube Cake from Hearts and Bells

A few months ago, I received a very pretty chocolate cake. It was honestly too pretty to eat! Look at that wonderful cake! I was impressed with the fresh fruits! I am not used to having cake with fresh fruits, so I was pleasantly surprised that they pair very very well. I was most impressed with I saw the blueberries. Blueberries is something I don’t actually see often especially in cakes (because most are the preserved ones). I got a sliced and at them all together and it was such a wonderful frenzy of flavors! I knew right there and then, that Hearts and Bells’ cakes are on a league of their own. And try to look at their prices, it’s very reasonable. I say reasonable because look at the quality and design!

I saw recently that they also added an ube cake to their menu. I have been seeing it on my Instagram feeds. I saw too how pretty it was – the flower icing! And when it comes to cakes – my weakness is ICING! I just LOVE love love icing! I know some of your would take out the excess icing on their cakes and leave it on the plate, well – I, I will ask the icing from you. Hahaha! I love love it so much! I enjoy a LOT of icing on my cakes. Yes, yes, yes! Hahaha..

So for Shobe’s birthday, I initially thought to just order a simple cake with a LOT of icing. The icing being for me – hahaha! But then Hearts and Bells offered to do a custom cake for my! Hooray!! Thank you Hearts and Bells! But because I am a good customer, I made sure to purchase an Ube cake too! I mean, I am really thankful for the offer – but I thought, why not support their business by buying a cake too. Win win for both of us right?

Look below their custom cake – I requested a Sesame Street one. I did not specify anything, but I just told them that I wanted a Sesame Street theme. I know, it’s not common anymore – but you know what, Shobe enjoys watching Sesame Street! Even Kailee and Connor are hooked on the show!

The cakes were so pretty, right? As they say, the devil is in the details – look at the flower icings! WOW!! Also, they’re not just pretty to look at, they taste great too! Walang biro. I don’t expect custom cakes to taste good because it’s mostly eye candy, but when I sliced the custom cake – I knew it was a winner when I pulled out my cut slice. It was chocolatey good! I don’t like chocolate cakes so much but this one, I really enjoyed. You can ask my kids because they saw me get slice after slice. It was a good thing that it was the weekend, my cheat days! Hihi..

I shared the Ube cake with my in laws and my mom. They all liked it. My mom who is NOT a cake person even called me to say ‘Masarap yung ube cake ha!’ And I agreed with her that it was good! The ube cake isn’t just purple and fragrant, but there is actual UBE HALAYA on the layers of the cake. I wasn’t able to take a picture anymore of the slice because I had to cut and distribute them already. But I PROMISE YOU, their cakes are really very good! Basta winner the taste, the quality and of course the price. What more can you ask for? I ordered the 10in x 3inc size for the ube cake below.

I want to try their caramel cake next! You can find and contact them on their social media accounts:
Facebook Page – Hearts and Bells
Instagram – Hearts and Bells

They’re very responsive and very easy to talk to. I also love how that they deliver on time and the packaging is very sturdy too!!
