#DIDIscoveries: Saku Sushi

I don’t eat raw fish. Well, smoked salmon with dill yes – but other than that – NOPE! I am told that I’m missing half my life – but I still won’t eat it unless necessary. Hahaha! Given the situation you’re probably wondering WHY I’m posting of Saku Sushi? Well, of course – there’s a story behind it, right? So let me tell you that story.

My High School batchmate She, messaged me that the son of her friend has a sushi delivery service. She said this friend’s son was trained as a sushi chef in – Japan. That instantly rung bells – my Panget and Kailee LOVED sashimi. And this whole lock down, well – I’ve been trying to look for one that was reliable, but I was always too afraid to order for them. So when She sent me the link – I looked at their menu and said what the heck – and ordered. I ordered for Kailee and my Panget. Since they’re fans of salmon – I got the Salmon Party.

The replies I received on my FB messenger from Saku Sushi were very detailed, cheery to a fault and very informative. I placed my order in the morning and waited for the delivery time that I specified. And it arrived on time. This was what arrived:

It looks so good right? Even if I wasn’t a raw fish eater – it looked really appetizing. It was appetizing enough – that I TRIED AND ATE A PIECE OF THE SALMON ROLL. Even I was surprised with what I did. I ate one piece and it was good! Masarap pala!

And then the taste remained in my thoughts. I went back to take a look and said – maybe it was a lucky first try. So, I ate another piece – and it was still good. Hahaha.. I stopped immediately. I was shocked with what I did.

So when dinner came, I showed it to Panget and Kailee. Kailee of course, shrieked with happiness. She ate piece after piece after piece of the salmon sashimi. I’m sure if we turned our backs, she would have eaten all the salmon sashimi! My Panget said it was okay – but when he tried the Hono Roll – well, that he declared as, masarap! Imagine his shock when I got a piece of the hono roll and dipped it in his wasabi soy sauce mixture. Hahaha!

After a week, I ordered it again – but tried the Spicy Tuna instead. It was still good! But I think I’m partial to salmon. Hihi..

They also have other sets and more rolls to choose from. Below is the california maki.
